How To Add A Shortcut On Home Screen?

Hello world! First of all, I need to give you all a very happy news that I have got a new mobile phone, Redmi Note 10 Pro, which is probably one of the latest models now…

So, in my new, phone I have got this option of recording my screen, which indeed is a blessing because it’ll be easier, to explain technical processes.

So, if you own an Android and you want to get an app on your home screen without downloading it, how should you do it? I will be explaining this process today with the, steps and a video that I have shooted with my screen recorder😊.

This method will help you to save data as you won’t have to download any app, instead you can open it on the browser itself. So, let’s get started!

Step 1

Open any site on your phone’s web browser. Here in the video, I have opened Google Classroom. You can open any site you require.

Step 2

When the site opens, click on the 3 dots present at the top right hand corner of the page.

Step 3

On the menu bar that opens, you will find an option called ‘Add to Home Screen’. Click on it.

Step 4

You can save the shortcut with whatever name you like. Click on ‘Add’.

Now when you go to your home screen, you will find your shortcut added over there and when you click on it, the site will open in the browser.

You can see this video to get a simplified view of the procedure.

Did you like my blog? I’ll be posting more such blogs. Till then, take care!
