What’s Going On?

Hello friends! Long time no see… I was completely packed up these past few months and had absolutely no time to meet (figuratively) you all 😞 Moreover, I created another site (yes once again😅) and was busy decorating it but then I realized that I would better continue with BlogPrincess. So here I am…

My school has reopened today and we are going on a 50% roster basis. One half of the class will be attending online classes one day while the other half will go to school on that same day and this schedule will be followed alternatively. I was a part of the group that was supposed to physically attend school today. Honestly speaking, online classes were a much better choice for me because then I get a lot of time to self study at home. I am a born introvert and I don’t speak much so the excitement on meeting my friends after so long doesn’t come into the scene at all😆

Oh and yes, on Bhai Dooj (which is an Indian festival of brothers and sisters where you pledge to protect each other and also exchange gifts) my 5 year old brother gave me a story book- Five Feet Apart by Rachael Lippincott. Its really awesome ❤ and you can definitely check it out if you want.

So that’s what has been going on in my life lately apart from the petty things which keep popping up now and then of course 😌

I think I will be writing more often now that I have stopped procrastinating and finally logged into my BlogPrincess account 😂

Do let me know what’s going on in your lives because I’m eager to hear about it 😃

BOOKS- MY LOVE. MY LIFE.

There is no friend as loyal as a book

Ernest Hemingway

So true, right? Books are an integral part and parcel of our lives. For me, they are not only books, but my whole world, my friends and family. This must be the case with quite a lot of you also…

On my birthdays I always buy story books. Other than that, I buy books quite often. Recently I ordered 3 story books and they arrived today and my joy knows no bounds!

My favorite authors are Roald Dahl, Enid Blyton, Sudha Murty, R. L. Stine among all others.

Here are the pictures of some books written by them, few of which I have bought recently.

The Ghost Next Door by R. L. Stine
How I Taught my Grandmother to Read and other stories by Sudha Murty
Malory Towers New Term by Enid Blyton
The Invisible Man by H. G. Wells
The Witches by Roald Dahl
Target 3 Billion by A. P. J. Abdul Kalam and Srijan Pal Singh

Below, I have pasted some pictures to create an overview of all the books that I have at home…

So, we can conclude that there’s nothing better than books, be it an eBook or a hard copy.

Do tell me which are your favorite books and who are your favorite authors in the comments section.

I’ll be posting more such blogs. Till then, take care!

New Podcast For BlogPrincess

Hello friends! Recently I received a feedback from one of my viewers and it occured to me that many of you out there might want to listen to my blogs instead of reading them. So, as you must have guessed, I’m talking about a podcast for my site, BlogPrincess.

Okay so, I have been trying to do this thing for quite a while now. In fact, I have been following a trial- and- error method😉

Now that I have figured it out, I hope it’ll be helpful for all of you. I’m gonna paste my podcast link over here.

One thing that has been bugging me about Anchor and WordPress is that until and unless I publish a blog, I won’t be able to create a podcast out of it. So… That little thing is gonna make some trouble for me😞

Anyways, for now I’m posting the link to my podcast only. When you click on it, it’ll be empty because I haven’t made any episodes as yet. But as and when I make more episodes for my blogs, I’ll paste the links in the respective posts…

https://anchor.fm/blogprincess07

Just one episode has been uploaded as of now but later on I’ll be converting my news blogs into podcasts as well.

OH GOD…! CONFUSION EVERYWHERE

Hi guys! BlogPrincess is back after a long time! Actually I had deleted this site because I wanted to create a new one especially for writing stories. And I didn’t want this site URL also. So, I deleted it permanently. Last night when my parents came to know about it, they said that I made a wrong decision because I had got so many blog posts on this site. So yeah… I ultimately started regretting the fact that BlogPrincess had been deleted permanently. But then I got to know, that every deleted site on WordPress stays for maximim 30 days after which it can’t be retrieved. I was overjoyed! I figured out after a lot of trouble that indeed I could get back this site and now here I am!

Now I’ll be posting general blogs in this site and stories on the other one. If you want to know what’s the name of my other blog page, it is Sumedha’s Diary 🖋 and the username is, storiesbysumedha.

I’ll also attach the link here so that you guys can check it out!

THE MANIAC SECURITY GUARD

It was the first day of my job. I had prepared myself well but did not expect to be all alone in the whole office building except for a creepy old security guard.

I asked him, “Ramesh, where are the rest of the people?” He replied that I had arrived early and that it was not yet time for the other staff to come.

I said, “Would you please get me a cup of coffee?” He said, “Yes”and went away. He took 10 minutes to arrive with my beverage. I had it and suddenly I started feeling dizzy and fainted.

When I woke up I realised that he had locked me inside a coffin- like box. I heard his voice from outside. He said, “You are so beautiful … and beautiful things must be preserved, right?”

REUSING NEWSPAPERS

Hello world! So today I thought of sharing something important with you all.

We all know that we should save paper but most of us, including me, don’t actually do that… Of course there are some exceptions to that and I would definitely want those precious gems to be honoured.

Anyways, coming back to the topic, 3 years back, when I was in class 6, my science book had an activity which was about reusing newspapers. Yes newspapers… Many of you must be thinking that how on earth are we supposed to do  that?… Well it is possible and is definitely quite simple… And I’m going to tell you how to do that.

Step 1:

Tear 2 sheets of a newspaper into tiny bits and pieces. They should be quite small but not totally a miniature size. And of course, they need not be of the same size, you can tear them by hand.

Step 2:

Soak these pieces of newspapers in boiling hot water. In case you are under 18, I would suggest that you do it under adult supervision.

Step 3:

Now strain the water and smash the bits of paper by hand… If you are unable to do it by hand, you can use a big spoon or something also. Squeeze and squish and smash the wet papers to make them look like a ball.

Step 4:

Roll this ball with a rolling pin. If you don’t have a rolling pin, you can also use a big, long, cylindrical tube to make the ball flat. Try to keep the edges straight while you flatten the paper ball.

Step 5:

Cover both sides of the flattened paper with aluminium foil… mind you both sides of it. Make a few holes on the sides of the foil so that any extra water in the newspapers can flow out.

Step 6:

Keep the whole set up in a place which recieves direct sunlight and keep it undisturbed for 72 hours.

Open the aluminium foil after 3 days and the result you get is the recycled newspaper. Now you can use it to draw, or write whatever you want…

This is the paper that I made by following this procedure. Of course, it was made a long time back, so the sides had torn and I had to edit the picture. I drew this cute little elephant on the paper, you can use it anyway you would like to.

So in only 6 steps you can create this beautiful and useful thing. Moreover most of the things are readily available at home. So what are you waiting for? Start making it right now!

MY BEST BIRTHDAY SURPRISE!

My birthday is on 21st October. In the year 2019, it was a Monday. In the morning, I woke up at 7 o’clock and told my mother that I would like to have Italian White Sauce Pasta for breakfast. It is one of my favourite Italian dishes and I eat it every year on my birthday. Next I went to my paternal grandma’s house to take her blessings. When I came back, my breakfast was ready. One whole plate of pasta was just too much and I literally decided to starve for the rest of the day! My father told me to exercise for some time so that I could be able to have lunch.

My mother made Indian dishes like pulao, aloo dum, egg curry and chutney for lunch. It was superb and after lunch, I had decided to skip dinner. In the evening, my mother, father and I had some fun. My father told me to give a dance performance! I danced to the Bengali song ‘Aaye Tobe Shohochori’ which I had been learning at my dance school. My mother made a video of it. It was around 7:30 pm when my father told me to get dressed as we were going to a restaurant. I asked them why we were going so early, though, I was personally thinking that we were going to help the shef make the food! We went to a restaurant named ‘Yuan’. My father had already reserved a table which was in the second floor. As soon as we climbed up thd stairs, I heard people singing the birthday song and the next moment I saw that my maternal grandfather, grandmother, aunt, uncle and brother were all gathered together. I was spellbound and I couldn’t think of how to react. After a while, I literally started jumping and dancing; I was just so happy to see all of them. Then I cut the cake which was very yummy. My 3 year old brother and I clicked 42 selfies in my phone. We all gossiped with each other. Then at 10 o’clock, dinner arrived and by 10:50 pm, we were all ready to leave.

This was the best birthday ever and one of the most memorable day of my life and I wish to have this sort of fun every year on my birthday!
